Update: The KB article for SharePoint foundation CU has been adjusted. The KB and the download link are now working.
The product group released the September 2014 Cumulative Update for the SharePoint 2010 product family.
For September 2014 CU we again have full server packages (also known as Uber packages). Unlike August 2014 CU no other CU is required to fully patch SharePoint.
Be aware that the September Cumulative Update for SharePoint 2010 is a Post-SP2 hotfix. It is recommended to have SP2 installed before installing the September CU.
This CU includes all SharePoint 2010 fixes released since SP1. The CU does not include SP2.
The KB articles for September CU will be available at the following locations in a couple of days:
- KB 2889932 – SharePoint Foundation 2010
- KB 2883103 – SharePoint Server 2010
- KB 2883006 – Project Server 2010
The Full Server Packages for September 2014 CU are available through the following links:
- Download SharePoint Foundation 2010 September 2014 CU
- Download SharePoint Server 2010 September 2014 CU
- Download Project Server 2010 September 2014 CU
After installing the fixes you need to run the SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard on each machine in the farm.
Be aware that the SharePoint Server 2010 CU contains the SharePoint Foundation CU.
That means only one package has to be installed for the SharePoint 2010 product family.

Hi Stefan,
it looks like there is no separate package for the Office Web Apps included in this CU, right?
So if i want to install a new SharePoint Server 2010 including Office Web Apps i would proceed as follows:
1.) Install SharePoint Server incl. SP2
2.) Install Office Web Apps SP2
3.) Install SharePoint Server September 2014 CU
4.) Create new farm
5.) Run config wizard
Do you agree or are there any in between CUs for Office Web Apps that have to be appiled?
Thanks in advance
Manfred

Hi Stefan, I see on another blog post that I should have the July 2014 CU installed before I install the Sept 2014 CU. Is that correct? I do have SP2 installed but I'm thinking I don't need any other CU installed before I install the Sept 2014 CU. Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, then the other blog writer is incorrect. July CU is not required when installing September CU.
