March 2022 CU for SharePoint Server Subscription Edition is available for download

The product group released the March 2022 Cumulative Update for SharePoint Server Subscription Edition. Similar to SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 SharePoint Server Subscription Edition is patched with a language dependent and a language independent fix.

The KB articles for March 2022 CU will be available at the following locations in a couple of hours:

  • KB 5002165 – March 2022 Update for SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (language independent)
  • There was no language dependent fix released this month.
The most recent language dependent fix is KB 5002110 from January 2022 CU.

The downloads for March 2022 CU are available through the following links:

Important: It is required to install both fixes (language dependent and independent) to fully patch a SharePoint server. This applies also to servers which do not have language packs installed. The reason is that each SharePoint installation includes a language dependent component together with a language independent component. If additional language packs are added later (only) the language dependent fix has to be applied again.

It is irrelevant which language you pick on the drop down in download center. Even the language dependent fixes are all in the same package for all languages.

After installing the fixes you need to run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard on each machine in the farm. If you prefer to run the command line version psconfig.exe ensure to have a look here for the correct options.

Please ensure to have a look at the SharePoint Patching Best Practices before applying new fixes.

SharePoint Server Subscription Edition March 2022 CU Build Number:

Language independent fix: 16.0.14326.20796

  1. Hi Stefan, after march update modern sites pages throw js exceptions. For example Site Information and Site Permissions links do not working any more.

    Home.aspx:1

[Report Only] Refused to run the JavaScript URL because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'strict-dynamic' 'unsafe-eval' 'nonce-8cc6d271-043f-4ba3-a97f-847340968cae'". Either the 'unsafe-inline' keyword, a hash ('sha256-...'), or a nonce ('nonce-...') is required to enable inline execution. Note that hashes do not apply to event handlers, style attributes and javascript: navigations unless the 'unsafe-hashes' keyword is present.

    1. Hasan,

Please download and apply Jan PU language pack: https://support.microsoft.com/help/5002110.

After Jan PU, there is no language pack release because there is no locale resource change after that. If you only apply March PU and skip previous language pack, there is problem.

Our Dev confirmed after applying Jan PU language pack, issue is gone.

  2. Hi, we have tested with March 2022 Core package and the latest available Language package (Jan 2022 PU KB5002110), in our trail “Site Information and Site Permissions links” work well.

Have you installed with latest available language package ?
