   Just installed this CU on a fresh install of SharePoint 2010 SP2 (only installed the server part of the CU). After the install, I get build 14.0.7149.5000 in the central admin. If I try to re-run the CU installation, I get "there are no products affected
   by this package…" Is this normal? I mean it's a fresh install….

   Could you please let me know what DLL should be updated by this CU ?
   Also, upgrading a freshly installed SP2 environment with the KB 3054880 will not show up 14.0.7151.5001 in the central administration site.

   Hi Mike, Hi Alex,

   I explained in the past that the version number in the Central Admin is not a patch level. It is the database schema version.
   Not all fixes update the database schema – ergo not all patches change this number.

   You can see very easily which files get updated in the "File Information" section in the KB article.

   For SharePoint foundation you can see these files:

   So now I know that my farm is really up to date.
   I tried posting the same info 2 times, but only once it got posted.

   Note: I have the same behavior as Alex if I try to re-run the CU binaries. Is this an expected behavior ?

   CU means cumulative update. Cumulative because it includes all previous updates.
   With other words: Yes.

   Thanks Stefan, After installing this CU when we want to run Products Configuration Wizard on each machine in the farm, should we be aware of something? or it is just running Products Configuration Wizard like first time after installing SharePoint on server?

    Hi Me,

    you can use either psconfig ui or psconfig.exe. I usually just run psconfig UI and not the command line tool but that is just a personal preference.

    If I have a SharePoint 2010 RTM farm, can I install SP2 and the Jun 2015 CU to be completely up to date and patched?? Does SP2 contain all SP1 patches?

    I have a SP 2010 two server farm for production. Both are currently at May 2015 CU 14.0.7149.5000. I noticed that after installing the April and May 2015 CUs, first installing CU on App, then on WFE and finally running Product Config Wizard on the App
    server first, I get a messenger in the wizard that the WFE CU is "missing." I have to quit and run the wizard several times before it finally notices the updated on the WFE. I have not found on the issue except to use Get-SProduct-local. I have not tried that
    method yet. Actually just found that today. One final comment. I also run a two server dev farm. To somewhat memic the production. I started updating the dev farm today following the same upgrade sequence for June 2015 CU, 14.0.7151.5000 and received the same
    error on on the rev app server while running the Product Config Wizard–"missing" update on the WFE. Came you shed light on why this might be happening? Thank you for your time.

    An ongoing ambiguity with my security team, do you still suggest that the firewall needs to be disabled before installing this CU or any CU for that matter. If yes could you guide me to any document from Microsoft which substantiates the same. Thank you..

    Hi Stefan
    Let me try to elaborate, we normally disable the Symantec Antivirus on the servers before we do a CU patch update on our servers and off late our security team is not allowing us to do so, they are asking for any document from Microsoft on the same.

    What we do is, raise a request to disable the Symantec endpoint protection and on those servers we will be able to disable Symantec till the time we run the CU and this is the best practice suggested by Microsoft and we are looking for a supporting document
    now.
