Support for SharePoint 2013 RTM has ended

Be aware that starting April 14th only SharePoint 2013 farms with SP1 are supported.

SharePoint 2013 servers/farms without SP1 are no longer supported and hotfixes released beginning with April 2015 cannot be installed on SharePoint 2013 servers without SP1.

  8. I realize there are several artilcles on the re-release of the 2013 Sp1. I have a new farm and have installed the security updates for April 2015. Since doing more research, I ran your script to check the version and here is the output:

    PS C:scripts> .check_sp_installed_version.ps1
    Products and Language Packs
    ——————————————-

DisplayName : Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013
    DisplayVersion : 15.0.4569.1506

I just want to make sure,
    1. that I need to install the re-release of SP1
    and
    2. where do I get the re-release of SP1

Thank you very much for your time.

  9. Update: I installed the June security patches, not the April. I now have patches with 15.0.4719.1002. If I install the re-released sp1 version, will this cause a problem?

  10. If you managed to install June 2015 CU there is no need to install the rereleased SP1 as you obviously already have SP1 installed – either the original one or the rereleased one.

  11. Hi TD,
if you used the slipstream SP1 builds you don’t have to install the rereleased SP1 version.
Current CUs work fine with the SP1 build in your output.
    Cheers,
    Stefan

  12. How do I know if it is a slipstream build?

I ran the PUs for June for SP 2013. Will that still run with the wrong version of SP1 if it's not the slipstream?

Just want to make sure I have the correct version installed before finishing building for production use.

    Thanks

  13. Hi TD,
did you install SharePoint based on the RTM version or based on the version that included SP1?
The one including SP1 is the slipstream build.
If you first installed RTM and then SP1 you are not using the slipstream build.
Yes, June PU for SP2013 will install on the wrong SP1 version.
    Cheers,
    Stefan

  15. As you can see from the filename it is the slipstream build with SP1.

  16. Thank you for all the help i really appreciate it.

The reason i needed to make sure is that we have a test farm that used the same SP2013 install file, but has 15.0.4631.1000 and 15.0.4641.1001 for some of the components, such as Languange packs and Excel Mobile Viewer Components. And I'm attempting to backup
and restore the site collection on the test farm to the new production farm but am getting errors when performing a restore (Restore-SPSite : 0x80070003), so wanted to rule out if the install versions might have been an issue along with the different versions
listed above. The listed version of the test farm (via your script) is:

    Products and Language Packs

DisplayName : Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013
    DisplayVersion : 15.0.4569.1506

    Thanks again

  17. What you see is normal. Components always have the version when they were last changed by a fix. So you will always have different version numbers on a system.
