x64 version of Debug Diag 1.1 troubleshooting tool has been released to web yesterday

After a long beta period the 64-bit version of Debug Diag 1.1 was made available for public download from Microsoft download center.

The Debug Diagnostic Tool (DebugDiag) is designed to assist in troubleshooting issues such as hangs, slow performance, memory leaks or fragmentation, and crashes in any user-mode process. The tool includes additional debugging scripts focused on Internet Information Services (IIS) applications, web data access components, COM+ and related Microsoft technologies.

The whitepaper about the tool has been updated as well.

  1. That’s only the analysis tool, not debugdiag.exe. At least on win7 and win2008 it doesn’t install.

  2. That is correct. A Win7 and Win2008 version is currently in the works.

  3. What is the point in just having the analysis tool ? How would one capture a dump of an X64 process that has LeakTrack.dll injected into it ? I don't think you can use the x86 version of Debug Diag – can you ?

  4. Sounds as if you  are trying to use DebugDiag on Vista, Win7, Win2008 or Win2008R2.

DebugDiag 1.1 only supports Operating Systems up to Windows Server 2003. A version of DebugDiag which will support newer OS is currently in development.

  5. Hi Stefan,

Any status update on a DebugDiag that supports capturing on Win7?

Maybe there is a beta or a technology preview out there?

  6. Yup! A x64 build for Windows and Window 2008 R2 architectures would be *very* useful for me right now!

  7. How lame is it that we still don't have a DebugDiag for Windows Server 2008?

    Answer: Mega Lame!

  8. Hi Thomas,

    please have a look here:

It contains the latest beta version of DebugDiag 1.2 with W2K8 support.
