WSS 2.0 and SPS 2003 Service Pack 3 have been released yesterday
I am having an issue viewing sharepoint lists in datasheet view since WSS SP3 was applied to my WSS 2.0 site.
Microsoft seem reluctant to even investigate without $$$.
WSSSP3 installed automatically unattended and none of my sharepoint lists are viewable in datasheet view.
We run small business server 2003 sp2, office 2007 small business edition, IE7.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have started to check file versions and mine all appear later???
I would be happy to uninstall if it was possible.
the error my users get is
"The list is displayed in Standard view. It cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows SharePoint Services is not installed, your browser does not support ActiveX controls, or support for ActiveX controls is disabled."
Hi, I had the same problem with the datasheet view in my german sites. Sites created with the english langauge pack (also updated with service pack 3) worked well. How I solved this problem (german language): http://www.mg2.de/sharepoint-2003/service-pack-3/
The hotfix noted above (kb941412) fixed the problem for us, as well. We had a bit of difficulty getting to it, as the URL for the hotfix itself (emailed to us by Microsoft) was flagged as suspicious by our network security software, but the patch, once installed, did give us back the ability to view and edit Sharepoint lists in datasheet mode.

The above steps didn’t fix it for me but this hotfix did.
