Hello Stefan,
I have a required where by we need to migrate content from MCMS to WSS 3.0 portal. We can not use MOSS because of lincensing.
Please guide.

Hi Jay,
WSS does not have a publishing infrastructure. So it misses all the authoring capabilities with page layouts and similar.
So you cannot migrate a MCMS site to WSS. You need MOSS.

Hello Stefan,
Thank you so much for the inputs, do we have any third party tool to do so, i mean from MCMS to WSS?
Thanks once again.

Hi Jay,
not sure if you understood what I explained. Even if you would find a 3rd party tool to somehow migrate the existing content to WSS you would not have any authoring capabilities to update and create new content as WSS does not have a publishing infrastructure.
Cheers,
Stefan
